Rachel Gillig

Rachel Gillig is a contemporary American author best known for her romantic fantasy novels. Born and raised in Northern California, she holds a bachelor’s degree in literary theory and criticism from the University of California, Davis.

A former preschool teacher, Gillig began writing at a young age, but her professional breakthrough came with the publication of her debut novel One Dark Window in 2022. The book quickly captured the attention of readers around the world with its dark atmosphere, intricate magical system, and deeply developed characters. Following the success of her first novel, Gillig released the sequel, Two Twisted Crowns, in 2023, solidifying her place as one of the most promising new voices in the fantasy genre.

When she’s not writing, Rachel Gillig enjoys reading classic literature, hiking in nature, and spending time with her loved ones. She often shares that her inspiration for characters and worlds comes from old fairytales as well as the natural landscapes of her home region.
