The series “A Court of Thorns and Roses” was written in 2009. The genre is fantasy, and the story itself is very reminiscent of the fairy tale of Beauty and the Beast.
Sarah J. Maas takes us to the fairytale world of Prithian, which is divided between humans and elves. Once the humans were slaves to the powerful Great Masters and lived in constant fear. That changes when the humans rebel and, after a long and devastating war, the two races are separated by a magical wall. Ominous tales of elven cruelty are still told among the humans, and no one crosses the invisible border.
Feyre is the main character in A Court of Thorns and Roses, who ironically falls into the hands of the elves. A fragile and insignificant mortal who is exposed to the dangers of Pritian. Bloodthirsty creatures born of mortal nightmares populate the lands of the elves, and Feira must learn to survive. Full of hatred for the elven people, our heroine lives in the mansion of the Great Prince of the Spring Court. In time, she manages to see the beauty of the world and fall in love with the gallant elf. But her happiness is not long-lasting, because a curse weighs on her and threatens the whole world, including the lands of humans.
