J. R. Ward is the pseudonym of Jessica Rowley Pell Bird. She was born in Boston, USA in 1969. Even as a high school student, she enjoyed reading many romance novels and tried writing short stories of her own. The summer before college, she finished her first novel as a manuscript.
A few years into his writing career, he began publishing paranormal romance novels under the pseudonym J. R. Ward. The first book, Dark Lover, from the iconic Black Dagger Brotherhood series, was published in 2005. It quickly became an international bestseller and was published in millions of copies.
