The Iron King by Julie Kagawa – A Fresh YA Fantasy Adventure
It might surprise you, but I truly enjoyed The Iron King and found myself swept up in its story. That said, if you're not a fan of fiction aimed at…
Julie Kagawa is an American author best known for her fantasy series that blend mythology, magic, and compelling world-building.
Julie Mapta Kagawa was born on October 12, 1982, in Sacramento, California, but spent most of her childhood in the Hawaiian Islands. It was there, surrounded by the natural magic and exotic beauty of the islands, that she first discovered her love of books. As a teenager, she began writing—starting with horror short stories.
After high school, Kagawa worked in a bookstore but had to leave because she spent more time reading than helping customers. This led her to another passion—dog training, working with everything from Chihuahuas to Labradors. Yet writing remained her true dream.
Her major breakthrough came in 2010 with the publication of The Iron King, the first book in the Iron Fey series, which launched her career as a bestselling fantasy author.
