Pocketbook Basic Lux 3 – Review, Prices and Features

Pocketbook Basic Lux 3

Why do I like Pocketbook? Those who know me know that I am neither a slave to brands nor a fanatic. I love practical things that work for me, and I think that what Pocketbook offers and the price level of their products are perfectly adequate to the needs of the average reader.

Content

Today we are going to take a look at the PocketBook Basic Lux 3 model.

Screen

The screen is black and white and features E Ink Carta Technology ™. Its advantages are numerous. The feel is very close to that of a real book and does not strain the eyes at all. There is no glare in daylight, the screen itself is matte and this makes reading comfortable in any light. My personal reader is the older Pocketbook Basic Lux 2, which has the same screen technology and which we also published a review about here on the blog.

Size

The screen is 6 inches, which is good because it fits in most pockets and backpacks and you can really take it anywhere. The model is also very light, only 155 years. From my own experience, I can say that this is an advantage even if you use it in bed at night.

Formats

The Pocketbook Basic Lux 3 has all the features that its big brother Basic Lux 2 has. It supports all the popular formats, which is typical for the brand and saves us from reformatting with other applications. PocketBook works with 21 different formats, including DJVU, DOC, FB2, HTML, MOBI, RTF, TXT, JPEG, BMP, PNG, TIFF, EPUB and PDF.

Processor

Among the improvements of the new model is the dual-core processor. The Basic Lux 3 has a CPU frequency of 2 times 1 GHz, which makes it even faster. RAM is now 512 MB. The integrated memory of the model is 8 GB and has an additional memory card slot. With all these features, you can get an enviable collection of e-books.

Battery

Not to mention that the PocketBook Basic Lux 3 can run up to a month on a single charge, and this is not just an advertisement for the model, but a fact.

SMARTlight is not just a backlight in Pocketbook Basic Lux 3

The backlight is a great invention that makes reading easier for the reader. In this model, this feature has been improved and we now have the possibility to adjust not only the brightness, but also the color temperature. It’s super easy to choose between a warmer or cooler hue depending on your preference, and with the ability to save the settings for easier access when you need them.

Wi-Fi, Pocketbook Cloud, and Pocketbook Reader.

Like I said, I love the things that make my life easier. The Wi-Fi feature is one of the things I love about my Reader. It makes it super easy to transfer books. Here is how I personally do it. I download the file to my phone and then send it as an attachment to my Pocketbook. Unfortunately, I do not have a Pocketbook cloud, which would be even more convenient. That will be justified. The Pocketbook cloud allowed the older models to connect to Dropbox. You can store all your books there and have them available on all your devices without having to transfer them by cable.

Combined with Pocketbook Reader, a free reading app that you can install on your phone and sync with the Reader itself. Even if you forget your Pocketbook, you can still read the book on your phone. The app itself offers many options for customizing the look and adjusting the brightness of the screen. It also provides access to an online bookstore where you can buy books. In summary, the company offers people who are looking for an inexpensive reader the opportunity to use the extras of the higher-end models.

Pocketbook Basic Lux User Guide 3

Dora

Hello, my name is Todora, but now also known as Dochka or Docheto. I have two wonderful dragons at home (boys ages 5 and 7) that I am trying to raise in the love of books. I was quite a chatterbox as a kid when I had required reading in school, and now I am trying to make up for it. I love reading fantasy, sweet endings are not my "thing". I love it when there are struggles, intrigue, and surprises in a book that shake you to your core. If I fell into paranoia that all the characters were traitors, my rating would be 5 stars. In short, I love to read and if one day I find a way to make this my sole occupation and get paid for it :D, I will have stumbled into heaven.
